Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problems sticking on 90 degree corner. I purchased this earlier in the year and it has started to peel at the corners where it was placed. I shared original photos with the company designers to get their thoughts and no one said I should not attempt to apply it in this situation. I would reserve this application for drywall only. This was an expensive fail for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alternative séduisante! On cherchait un effet vieille brique tout en voulant éviter la maçonnerie si possible. Et avec un look différent des traditionnelles briques métro qu’on voit très fréquemment dans les nouvelles cuisines. On est très satisfait du résultat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Harder than I thought but BEAUTIFUL results... I do love the look...was not as easy as I expected. By starting at the left, as suggested, the top row did not line up properly. There was some of a 'rig-job' that needed to be done. But, once it is up and completed -nobody would know unless I tell them. Mums the word! I LOVE the look...it does look very, very real. I am still searching for the proper 'end bar' to make them look 'thicker' at the end of the backsplash. I will find it! BEAUTIFUL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks just like an exposed brick wall! We're thrilled with our new Brik Toscana Smart Tile wall. We chose this pattern to complement a nearby exposed brick wall in our basement kitchenette. It looks exactly like the real, 100-yr-old brick! We let our contractor install the tile, and he said it was fun (thanks to very clear instructions and helpful guide marks).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not recommend I did not keep these tiles. I returned them. Unfortunately, they looked exactly like plastic rectangles with puffy snow. I still have not had the return credited to card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light up my kitchen! Beautiful, very real looking, great quality and is a one woman job! I will purchase more to accent the wall around my largest window in my living room. Easy and fun!

Can I add smart tiles on top of an already tiled surface? or does it have to go on a straight surface?

Asked by: Neneta
Hello, Thank you for your interest in Smart Tiles. They can be installed over existing tile as long as the tiles are smooth, without texture and non-porous. You should also take into account the grout lines as Smart Tiles are very thin and deep grout lines or imperfections could show through certain models, especially the larger models. Be sure to clean the surface with a degreaser product before beginning the installation.

How easy is it to remove? Will it cause damage to the area it is put on?

Asked by: Kellylin
Hello, Smart Tiles are easy to remove with little to no damage, depending on the surface they were installed on. To make it easy, use a blow dryer to warm up each tile to soften the adhesive and pull softly starting with the corners. Use a cleaning product to wash the wall and remove any excess glue left by the Smart Tiles.

Can smart tiles be used around a fireplace?

Asked by: jessdyi
They can be installed on a fireplace surround surface whose temperature does not exceed 49 °C (120 °F). It is important to avoid any direct contact with a heat source or direct exposure to an open flame.

Hi I have a small counter space that is old tile. Could I use this to cover the counter space? Or is this mainly for walls and decoration? It wouldn’t be a highly used area of counter. Thx u.

Asked by: Soleil in LA
Hello, thank you for your question. We do not recommend installing Smart Tiles on a work surfaces such as counter tops and floors. Our tiles would easily get damaged if used on the counter due to placing items on them or possible spilling any type of liquid. Doing so will damage the tiles and void the warranty.

May I use this tile on the sheetock mantle of my fireplace?

Asked by: BrickFan
Hello, thank you for your question. Yes, although this surface must be smooth and sleek without any texture. If you have an existing tile, we recommend properly clean the existing tile with a degreaser. Also, you must take into account the width and depth of the existing grout lines as this might affect the outcome. Some shapes of tiles (ex: diamond) have more texture than others. We recommend testing with 1 or 2 Smart Tiles that also have texture before doing the full wall. * IMPORTANT: For the Oslo models, it is recommended that these be installed exclusively on smooth and sleek surfaces. Due to its size, the tile will tend to show any irregularities in the surface. If the surface is even slightly indented such as with a grout line, you must fill any gaps to ensure a smooth application of the Oslo.

What is the texture like on this? Is it rougher like real brick, or smooth like tile?

Asked by: Bili
Hello, thank you for your question. Our Smart Tiles are not made rough, they are made of an adhesive substrate topped with a gel component called Gel-O™ (giving a 3-dimensional effect). Our Brik Porto is made with a matte finish, you may always purchase a sample size on our website to have a better perspective of what our tile looks like.

Can smart tiles be used in immediate shower areas?

Asked by: jcerv18
Hello, thank you for your interest in Smart Tiles. Our peel and stick tiles are resistant to moisture and humidity however they were not designed to be used on shower walls. Direct contact with water over a prolonged period of time may affect the adherence of the product. For the shower area, you may place them at a height were they will not be in contact with the shower flow. Just make sure that the area has been properly cleaned with a degreaser, thoroughly dried and wait at least 48 hours before using the shower to ensure the tile has a chance to properly adhere to the surface.
