Rated 5 out of 5 by Kcelmz from Looks incredible! These tiles made my van conversion really stand out. If this is your first time using these, be mindful that you have to be extremely careful with making each piece level. Just a slight raise in one tile can lead you to follow that an eventually when you stepback it will be uneven. Fortunately, I learned that lesson the last time I installed these so this one turned out much better. I've found that a good pair of scissors was very accurate for me. The texture of the tiles is great and gives an illusion that these are real, raised tiles. Well done smart tiles and please continue to make more modern designs like this. I am not a fan of most of your designs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PSquare from Brings warmth and character to my kitchen I’ve been pondering doing a kitchen backsplash for several months. I patiently went through two different batches of samples. I loved the flecks in Norway Alta. I was sold after seeing the image of Norway Alta, as installed, with its shade variations (not evident in the small 4x4 sample). I installed this by myself and while I had a few measuring and cutting errors, I found this style very forgiving as I was able to “patch” the small errant cuts. I’m very happy with the end result. And I did choose the easy route by not taking the backsplash all the way up into the cabinets. I wasn’t up for THAT much cutting!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from The end result is gorgeous! These tiles are easy to use. The OCD in me made it a painstaking task and I was frustrated during the process with measuring but that’s me, not the tiles. And I couldn’t be happier with the end result! The big tiles really pop well in my kitchen and I’ve had so many compliments on them already along with people not realizing they weren’t real tile! Very happy with it and a much cheaper way to update the kitchen in my first house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by J Arroyo from They don't need to pay me to tell the truth! Wow. This was so easy to do! Honestly, I'm a thinker, not a builder. I prefer to pay those that use their hands to build, construct and make things pretty, because I am not one of them. I admire the "weekend warrior", so my admiration for those that construct for a living is higher. With that being said, even I "renewed" my kitchen, without masonry, glues, stickiness or dust. Smart Tiles were so easy to set up, peel and stick, that I just had to do some simple measurements in order to do some simple cutting. I know, I sound like a commercial. But this is the honest truth. This is one of those DIY projects that really, I did it myself!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Cetam from Somewhat disappointed Just finished installing 20 sq feet of Oslo White for kitchen back splash. The material is quite thin, which makes trimming with a sharp blade and straight edge very easy. The adhesive is strong, but before you press it down firmly, the tile can still be peeled off and re-positioned. This allows for perfect alignment and almost invisible seams. The best part is the no-mess installation. A quick and easy transformation! My disappointment stems from the thinness and pliability of the vinyl material. I applied it over clean, cured paint. The wall had the typical texture left by a paint roller, not extreme at all. Unfortunately, once the tile is pressed in place and well adhered, even this slight texture shows through the tile. Since this particular style is very high gloss, the effect is quite pronounced. Out of the box, the vinyl surface is smooth like glass, once applied, not so much. Everyone that's seen it so far thinks it looks great, but I know it should be better. I don't think it would be practical to sand paint texture off wall, so consider this when purchasing. I expected more for the high material cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Snickers from Love them.... Recently moved and didn't want to make a huge commitment to tiling yet...because I was unsure of what color appliances to purchase; so found these tiles and it worked out just fine. It updated the kitchen and I can put the issue of appliances etc. off for a while so I figure out what I really want... but still have a pretty clean kitchen!

What is the tile thickness? How far does it come out from the wall?
Hello, thank you for your question. All Smart Tiles are 0.07in thick. They can easily cut to fit with a box cutter.

Can these tiles be used on old wood paneling?
Hello, thank you for your question. The tile will not stick properly if installed directly on wood paneling. You would need to apply a primer and wait 72 hours for it to cure (paint 21 days) before installing the tile. Also, you must ensure the surface is smooth and sleek without texture in order for the tile to adhere properly.

I only need a backsplash of 4 1/2", can I cut the full size one to the size I need?
Hello, our tiles are very thin (0.07in) and can be easily cut to fit with a box cutter. We also recommend using a cutting mat along with a metal ruler with a cork backing to help with the measurements. The cork backing ruler helps with a straight cut while cutting.

Can these be cut? If so, what is the recommended method?
Hello, our Smart Panel can be cut but it would void all warranty. We do not advise doing so and we cannot guarantee the outcome. If you decide to cut the panel we suggest using tinsnips but we highly recommend asking advice from a hardware store.

Can this be applied onto wallpaper?
Hello, Thank you for your interest in Smart Tiles. They can be installed over wallpaper as long as the surface is smooth, without texture and in good condition. If the wallpaper is damaged or textured, we would not recommend installing the tiles as it may cause issues with the adherence. Be sure to clean the surface with a degreaser product before starting the installation as well.

Can I add smart tiles on top of an already tiled surface? or does it have to go on a straight surface?
Hello, Thank you for your interest in Smart Tiles. They can be installed over existing tile as long as the tiles are smooth, without texture and non-porous. You should also take into account the grout lines as Smart Tiles are very thin and deep grout lines or imperfections could show through certain models, especially the larger models. Be sure to clean the surface with a degreaser product before beginning the installation.

How easy is it to remove? Will it cause damage to the area it is put on?
Hello, Smart Tiles are easy to remove with little to no damage, depending on the surface they were installed on. To make it easy, use a blow dryer to warm up each tile to soften the adhesive and pull softly starting with the corners. Use a cleaning product to wash the wall and remove any excess glue left by the Smart Tiles.
