Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this Tile I was updating the Kitchen and I wanted a backsplash that was easy and quick, did my research and came across this and purchased it while it was on sale, I also purchased the Mosaic tile to go with this. I did the whole kitchen and purchased 70 of the subway and 12 of the Mosaic, but I didn't need 70, so I will be using the rest in the bathroom under the mirror. Easy to use and I had no problem with it sticking to the wall, and maybe that is because I had just painted the walls a couple of weeks prior. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quick simple way to update. Goes great with the new counters that was just installed and the Java Gel Stain Cabinets

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good results I bought these as a temporary change for my apartment as an update and I'm glad I did. The install was very tedious and not all the grout lines would stick. But from far away it looks so good! The feel is like gel and glossy but good quality. I'm very happy with the results and I cannot wait to order another style to do a backsplash in my kitchen. I do recommend ordering at least 4 extra for any mess ups. Over all I'm pleased and recommend them if you cannot put up real tile, there's nothing like the real deal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Overlap issues I love the look of this style but when it was time to install I realized I should have gone with one of the mosaics. The subway pattern is great but the seams REALLY stand out. I debated pulling them all off once I was about half way through but just kept going. Used them for a small backsplash area. From far away they look ok but if you get close the overlap lines scream at you. I've used the linear mosaic as well and the seams on that style are great and you can hardly tell they're there. I would buy the other styles again but not this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Realistic Tiles were easy to install, following the instructions. Cannot believe how they have made our back splash appear taller! Tiles are very shiny, easy to cut and visitors think they are glass tiles! Thank you, Smart Tiles! I did not want the mess and upkeep of tile with grout and your product eliminated all the work involved in putting traditional tiles up on the wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The end result is gorgeous! These tiles are easy to use. The OCD in me made it a painstaking task and I was frustrated during the process with measuring but that’s me, not the tiles. And I couldn’t be happier with the end result! The big tiles really pop well in my kitchen and I’ve had so many compliments on them already along with people not realizing they weren’t real tile! Very happy with it and a much cheaper way to update the kitchen in my first house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from smart tiles = smart buy found the tiles were easy to install and looked great once done. Hints - peel baking completely off before applying, it makes for easier positioning Leave a strip of backing where tile abuts an area that requires to be trimmed or cut as this will allow you to press the tile tight to the area with a putty knife or wall scrapper, then trim cutting along the edge of the wall scrapper, backing prevents the tile from sticking to the opposing surface / lift tile and remove backing after trimmed / eg: where backslash meets the underside of a cupboard, Would definitely purchase again and would recommend them to a friend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They don't need to pay me to tell the truth! Wow. This was so easy to do! Honestly, I'm a thinker, not a builder. I prefer to pay those that use their hands to build, construct and make things pretty, because I am not one of them. I admire the "weekend warrior", so my admiration for those that construct for a living is higher. With that being said, even I "renewed" my kitchen, without masonry, glues, stickiness or dust. Smart Tiles were so easy to set up, peel and stick, that I just had to do some simple measurements in order to do some simple cutting. I know, I sound like a commercial. But this is the honest truth. This is one of those DIY projects that really, I did it myself!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks quite professional I started out just doing a backsplash behind the sink/oven. Liked it so much I decided to do half of another wall where all my small appliances (e.g. microwave) are. Just discovered the finishing edging that's available and will use that soon to add a nice edging. There were a few rough patches on the walls, but the adhesive worked fine and now you can't tell there was ever a problem. My kitchen looks so much better now. Many videos on YouTube to watch. Took a little practice to get the cutting right for the hard spots around outlets and window ledges (keep your boxcutter edge really sharp and really DO use a cork-backed ruler!) I'm so happy I discovered these. When I redo upstairs bathroom, will use again! One very happy customer.

Can these tiles be used on old wood paneling?

Asked by: GwynneAnne
Hello, thank you for your question. The tile will not stick properly if installed directly on wood paneling. You would need to apply a primer and wait 72 hours for it to cure (paint 21 days) before installing the tile. Also, you must ensure the surface is smooth and sleek without texture in order for the tile to adhere properly.

I only need a backsplash of 4 1/2", can I cut the full size one to the size I need?

Asked by: JTenphoto
Hello, our tiles are very thin (0.07in) and can be easily cut to fit with a box cutter. We also recommend using a cutting mat along with a metal ruler with a cork backing to help with the measurements. The cork backing ruler helps with a straight cut while cutting.

Can these be cut? If so, what is the recommended method?

Asked by: SHRNY
Hello, our Smart Panel can be cut but it would void all warranty. We do not advise doing so and we cannot guarantee the outcome. If you decide to cut the panel we suggest using tinsnips but we highly recommend asking advice from a hardware store.

What are the tiles made of? I'm wondering about the weight, as I'm considering putting them in a van conversion. Are they as heavy as a regular tile product? Thanks.

Asked by: alexiss
Hello, Smart tiles are made from an adhesive vinyl sheet topped with a gel-resin for the effect of real tile or stone, they will never yellow or crack over time. They are 0.07in thick for easy installation and are guaranteed to stick for as long as you want them. You may use you peel and stick tiles in your RV. Just make sure that the surface is properly cleaned with a degreaser and thoroughly dry before installing the tile. The room temperature should be between 18C (65F) and 35C (95F) during installation to ensure proper adhesion to the surface. Please wait 48 hours after installing before exposing the tiles to moisture.

Can this be applied onto wallpaper?

Asked by: Deep River
Hello, Thank you for your interest in Smart Tiles. They can be installed over wallpaper as long as the surface is smooth, without texture and in good condition. If the wallpaper is damaged or textured, we would not recommend installing the tiles as it may cause issues with the adherence. Be sure to clean the surface with a degreaser product before starting the installation as well.

Can I add smart tiles on top of an already tiled surface? or does it have to go on a straight surface?

Asked by: Neneta
Hello, Thank you for your interest in Smart Tiles. They can be installed over existing tile as long as the tiles are smooth, without texture and non-porous. You should also take into account the grout lines as Smart Tiles are very thin and deep grout lines or imperfections could show through certain models, especially the larger models. Be sure to clean the surface with a degreaser product before beginning the installation.
